Hi there! My name is Ralda and this is the medium where I enjoy sharing all things wellness. This project of mine began as a hobby shortly after my IBS diagnoses. I ran into more foods I wasn't allowed to enjoy, rather than ingredients I could confide in. This sparked an interest in all aspects of nutrition, which incorporates everything from mental health to the meals we prepare. Since the start of this journey I have had the honor to create strong relationships, expand my network, and invest in creating more for others. Heres a bit more about me...
How was Solelysalud born?
Well, I don’t think many people know veganism wasn’t my first choice. In high school, I developed stomach issues that impeded me from eating all the foods I loved as a kid. This meant that from one day to another I could no longer have dairy, meats, greasy/oily foods, or just about anything acidic. As the stubborn teenager that I was, I tried my best to ignore the pains and kept going along with my regular diet. It wasn’t until my doctor diagnosed me with IBS that I decided I had to take control of my health.
What came next was deciding how I was going to restore my digestive and gut health. One day, I opened Instagram and saw a foodie from Houston and all the food he posted looked amazing. I was craving it all, but the reality was any one of those dishes would send me right to the hospital. Then, my next idea became what Solelysalud is now: my own Houston food and wellness account with a personal twist.

The nitty gritty
Aside from therapy, my transition to clean eating also benefited my mental health. There was an enormous wave of clarity in my life all of a sudden. This change was definitely a push to show the newer version of myself to the world, so I decided my food blog would be perfect for that.
For anyone struggling with mental health, I’d definitely like to reiterate that we must acknowledge how strong we are within. Igniting a sense a positivity from inside can switch up all the negative processing we have. Find what you’re good at and appreciate your abilities. Also, most importantly, seek help from those around you because mental health is not to be dealt with alone.

Where am I now?
My page Solelysalud centers around easy plant-based recipes and restaurant finds. I started it with the goal to show others how seamless it is to find options while eating out. From there, I challenged myself to make food at home, which only sparked new interests. I have followers from all over the world, yet my Houston viewers grow more every day. I’ve connected with small businesses to help them gain clientele, and I would say those are my favorite posts.
It’s great to see my followers show me their visits to restaurants that are brand new or needing a more steady influx of costumers. It’s definitely a gain for everyone when there’s new people trying vegan foods, and a family can watch their business grow.
I would say I set myself apart from other Houston creatives by the fact that I post healthier alternatives, but also insiders on lifestyle.
My followers can keep up with the health challenges I face, but also see what I try for restoration. I like to share the natural supplements I find for gut health as well as home remedies. So, you’re not just getting recipe ideas, but also how to keep up with your own well-being.
